A Royal plea

A ROYAL PLEA
My father's land,
My beloveth princess!
Once you were my pride
A beauty ever so priceless.

Who would have thought,
Who would have known,
That my father's sweat
To the gutters would be thrown?

As a new Princess born,
From the hands of the colonists delivered,
She was entrusted to the grown,
And to those who wouldn't enslave her.

So what went wrong?
And why is this princess still caged?
Why do we hear her mourn
Instead of a song of her new age?

Enough of her tears
I can't stand them!!!
Enough with her fears
Who can quench them?

Many like the prince charming
Have tried to get her rescued,
But her vicious dragons
Will not be subdued.

The cry of our caged princess
I cannot ignore,
So until she is cageless
My pen continues to pour.
