Gaurded

Guarded

But who can blame me?
I’ve never been the one to fall

Never been the one to catch fire
Lol I’ve always thrown that shit back

See, I don’t pay much attention to my world burning down around me..

It’s burnt many times
I still get back up in the morning

That first one set the tone
fucked every person that came after them

I’ve always laughed at lovers

Id Never fall again
I’ve kept these walls up

Believe me they’ve been tested

Time After Time

Then……

I caught myself smiling at the thought of  him..
The realization caught the breath in my chest.

Completely Paralyzed by fear
You don’t know it till you’ve been there..

when your hearts been ripped from your chest
You have a hard time forgetting it..

This is different
But I’ve been wrong before

I feel it in him to.

He’s as guarded as me
Those first ones will probably never
 set us free

I was happy here in my own little world..
Grinding, watching these babies grow.

I learned to be completely happy with just me..

Then I watched my sister in the fall,
& I remembered..

Remembered the way it feels..
To not have this lonely,
I’ve put inside of me

I think I’m gonna take a chance & you know what? If my world burns down around me..
I’ll be able to look at myself in the mirror

The  mornin,
it’ll come again..
Probably be burning when it does

But there’s beauty in the flames
