HIRAETH

Laura Akoragye 2001 (Kabale)

Hark!, the thoughts assail,
Just at the stroke of the blackest hour.
A mundane catastrophe describes the present, and a wicker, the future.
The daily ongoings are in fact quite pacified,
It's the devil in the details!
Every ticking second is what aggravates.
A constant realisation of inadequacy, inaction and ingenuity.
It's a facetious existence,
Because what else can possibly be done?

About this poem

An outpouring from a young adult's soul. A reflection of all the confusions of self discovery and actualisation.
