Remember the Night Sky

Remember me for the night sky,
Where my eyes ever in sweet wonder,
The dark, bright, far and high,
That left me smiling from under,

Maybe the moon will mirror my face,
Or the stars will write my name
But keep my memory in the right place,
As I'll hold images from where I came,

Remember the night sky; remember me,
I only ask - when I am gone,
Imagine wide of where I'll be
And be back like a morning born,

Like me, the sky may not be near,
But hopefully - ever there behind heart's door,
Like the sky, I will not disappear,
In our minds, we'll view more and more.

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I was saying goodbye to some friends and I wanted them to remember me for my admiration of the night sky.
