Not Who We Are

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Jealousy has its envious people.
Out to smear,
The credibility and reputations...
Of the people and the places they live.
Just to reflect them in a negative picture.
That is clear enough to not go near.

'So blessed we are to live as we do.
Always seeking to improve what we can.
Without displaying acts of pretentiousness.'

Ain't THAT the truth.
So many come to visit and expect to see,
Weapon carrying thieving deceivers.
Walking around impecabbly dressed,
Backstabbing hypocrites.
Self righteous religious trick duping doers.
And lieing denying racial divisionists.
That!
We are not.

None of that nonsense,
Is masqueraded to charade...
To hide,
Something else goes on here.
Other than the wholesomeness.
Enjoyed everyday to know...
This quality of life is genuine.
Although...
There may be a few exceptions.
That may distract to distort,
The overall clean, fresh to sniff it...
Air.

'And...
The distant sounds of gunfire.
Screaming people.
Blaring sirens?
All coming together to celebrate,
The joys of happiness to live life...
Day and night.
With a few requesting to be hospitalized,
Done then to experience...
The wonderful care we provide.
Without asking,
For proof of insurance coverage.
Before being quickly comatosed!'
