Let Dignity Crown Him With Might

Once a prince and now a king.
The royals mourn, the people sing.
As he ascends now to the throne.
He wears upon his brows a frown.

Elizabeth the queen, his mum.
Now laid to rest amidst the hum.
To join ancestors who have passed.
Their caskets at Westminster cast.

A royal Charles now at the helm.
To serve Britannia as his realm.
William now the Prince of Wales.
Amidst the cheers and all the hails.

And Harry as a sibling spare.
A solemn figure, with a tear.
To see his granny gone away.
Now left alone, and kept at bay.

The House of Windsor ushers sign.
All royalty must toe the line.
A house divided cannot stand.
It tumbles where there’s shifting sand.

So nations of The Commonwealth.
Rise to the occasion with much stealth.
“God save our Gracious King,” they sing.
“To him all glory, honor bring.

Defender of the Faith, he reigns.
A soulful king the crown attains.
Let dignity crown him with might.
To hinder harm, and make all right.”

About this poem

With the eighth of September, 2022 passing of Her Majesty, Elizabeth II, queen of the United Kingdom and her colonies, Great Britain’s King Charles III ascends the throne, alongside Queen Camilla as his royal consort. Let all nations of the world unite with one accord to bless this man, this servant of the crown, and to honor him, not just with might as king and heir, but humbly so, and granted with divine wisdom by God’s tender love and mercy. May he be filled with abundant grace and princely virtue.
