silent gifts

I saw you sitting alone on your porch as I drove past your house
You looked peaceful and content on that beautiful day
I didn't to talk to you
Instead I gave you a gift you will never know about
By not disturbing you, I gave you peace and quiet in a world where that's rare
I smiled as I drove home, knowing I saw you happy
That was my gift to myself on that beautiful day
Words left unspoken are painfully beautiful
