Venomous tongue

Your tongue is a poisonous whip that lashes it's venomous words into my ears
Your tongue is a sharp knive that cuts through even the coldest of hearts
Your tongue is a weapon that leaves permanent scars
Your tongue is dangerous for my wounds will never heal

You see it's not what you say it's how you say it ,and
Your tongue knows how to say things that manipulate my mind into thinking I am nothing more than flawed
You see we breathe the same air but you don't seem to care that your tongue evaporates all the oxygen out of me

I can no longer breathe
I am suffocating your tongue is killing me can you not see that my life I am no longer living
I'm just surviving hanging on to the hope of a miracle

I am no longer living because of the fear that if I release my wings and fly high your tongue will cut them down,a you will watch me fall right back down to the ground.
I am afraid to sleep, because I know that the moment I close my eyes your venom will be the only thing stuck in my mind.
So I'd rather not give you a chance to take away my night too, because my day already belongs to you

I am afraid to wear my heart on my sleeve, because I know that the moment I reveal what's underneath my long sleeves your tongue will be the disease that takes away from me.

You know you've made me realize that poetry cannot heal all wounds ,but
Then again what use are the words on these pages
If I don't have the courage to express my emotions
What use is this loaded pistol mouth of mine  if I cannot even shoot down your empire
What use are these clenched fists of mine
If I cannot even knock you out
What use us all this power I have if I cannot even attack
I think it's about time I beat you at your own game
I think it's about time you had a taste of your own medicine

I've gotten myself all hyped up,but I know that deep down inside that I'm all bark and no bite, because I was raised right and I know that two wrongs do not make a right
I know it's stupid wanting to give you a second chance , but I also know that no one can win fighting fire with fire
So now I'm just hoping that my kindness will be enough to cure your venomous tongue.
