Upside Down
UPSIDE DOWN.
Many have been caught in the web of "quick prosperity"
And now many have lost their hard-earned integrity
She used to vocalize how she would be a doctor
But today she doesn't mind at midnight being a roadside projector
I don't mean to be rude
But he use to say "I'll make mama proud"
So how come he has become so proud and loud?
His trousers have become 2 feet below his waist
Is this the generation hoped for or dreams have gone to waste?
They say "we are the leaders of tomorrow"
But it now looks like "we are the leading cause of sorrow"
Jezebel has now been given the title"prophetess"
Guess what? Deborah is seen as worthless
I passed by and I saw that there was not much difference between the church and the club
Gone are those days when we supported the "700 clubs" or even "a book club" or should I say a "Bible club"
"I can't come and kill myself, man gat enjoy" is what they say
These were the praying youths before they fixed their eyes on how to slay
They now skip school
Because they want to look cool
They call their mother's milk bitter
Hiv/aids they happily litter
We all want to live large
But no one is ready to work hard
Dear Nigerian youths,
Dear leaders of tomorrow,
We are aware of your names "baddo", " bullet" or even "vawulence"
But please, don't forget posterity doesn't need your unnecessary indulgence
Dear Nigerian youths,
"Things are hard" is that the excuse for this madness?
Please permit me to ask, "have you tried the one who made everything out of emptiness?"
We are all seeing this mess
But that doesn't mean we are useless
I still believe in greater days ahead
We'll soon burn these bridges and move ahead
Because God is still the head
And I know when the battle is over, I'll be the head.
