The silence.

Avanti J 2004 (Mumbai)

Have you ever heard the pauses between the music notes?
Like the silence that reigns around the room when you pluck a string on the guitar and leave it there for a while to waver?
Or the rhythm of the last key you play on the keyboard when the song is about to end?
I always wondered why i felt so familiar with it.
That silence is what reminds me of the pauses my mind has to take before it emerges into another storm of thoughts.
Funny how I'm contrasting my thoughts with the music notes, but it does make sense I promise.
When the last key on that piano ends, her fingers unconsciously start playing the next rhythm.
Without a halt, without a pause.
She didn't know I wasn't used to the rhythms of her life.
She didn't know that her fingers were affecting me all this while.
I tried to tell her to slow down her thoughts before it was too late
But i was just a shadow lurking. whose tries, nevertheless, would go in vain.
It pained my heart to look at my past self in such a gloom.
But i was from the future who apparently had found an escape out of that room.
So i let her feel all the emotions till she couldn't take anymore.
I saw her closing her eyes from exhaustion and left my past self sleeping there, closing the door.
Forever.
