She is light

I wish to be her
Dancing the night away
without a care of the world
Does she see it?
The shadows that are creeping
Stealing life from her garden
Leaving a trail of gloom
Does she see it?
Its slender fingers cracking
slim hands stretching
ready to pounce on her when she's most unaware,
Is she really that oblivious to it?
For she dances the night away,
and laughs from her core,
her eyes smile like the morning sun,
unaware of the ungodly hour,
slowly,creepily crawling,
leaving a stench of death,
on her garden of life,
taking away the light that resides.
Just when the hands approach her
she runs towards them
arms wide open
no fear in her heart
Oh! I wish to be her!
For she knows that her light
will restore the garden of life
once more!

About this poem

Sometimes we must trust in ourselves enough to know that though danger lurks in every corner and storms don't always give warning signals before they come, the light inside - hope - will always be enough to restore the missing pieces.
