Peace

Anganathi Thomas 2005 (Gqeberha)

I'm a caged bird seeking for freedom.
I chirp but no one bothers to lend me an ear.
This...takes my soul to rest 'cause I'm a lonely man boxed in.

I flood my pillows hoping for a better tomorrow,
But better is never better without worst.
There's always a light at the end of the tunnel but I guess my sins brought eternal dark clouds over my life, it always pours.

I try to cut myself to cleanse my spirit,
Yes it feels therapeutic.
Even the smell of my own blood became my favorite scent,
So I decided to...well, I decided to decorate my walls with my favorite scent of bad spirits.
Ever since then I've felt more calm and I even laugh at my own blood when it's on the wall... It feels so good.

I created my golden moments with myself.
