Morning

The morning was crystal clear and calm.  The sun slowly climbed into the sky, bringing warm light to the world.  The wind had died down and held its breath in the silence and the golden touches.  The river meandered past forests and meadows, then raised its eyes and saw the sun.  She wanted the sun to go with her.  It calmed down, called the waves and smooth as a mirror.  The sun saw itself in the reflection and along with the river.  Now the queen had another path to walk, but the river had learned a secret.
