Letter To One Day
Dear one day
I'm writing to you from today
I know we haven't met yet
But I'm well acquainted with your siblings
Today and yesterday
I hear you reside in the future
There the hopeful paint a beautiful picture
I also hear you come with beautiful things
Deserving rewards for those who wait
Them that put today to good works
But dear one day
For long I've been waiting
Waiting for when I'll receive my reward
A fair share of my today's good works
A measure only you know I honestly deserve
For many moons and suns
And many winters and summers
The clock has changed many hands
And I've always been waiting
Hoping that soon you'll come
But everyday pushes you further away
And my wait seems to be in vain
Things continue to fall apart
My weary heart is fainting
As hope grows more bleak
I'm not asking for gold nor silver
That I do have in the morning sun
And the starry night
But dear one day
All I do ask for is happiness
For how long will I wait
For many mornings have passed
But without you in sight
Everyday I suffer in heart
Starved of the peace that comes with "maybe one day"
There will be joy one day
There will be peace one day
There will be love one day
But how long is one day
How soon is one day
Dear one day
Like I said
I'm writing to you from today
And I know we haven't met yet
But I hope one day it'll be that day
Yours faithful
