In Time They Say

Brokenhearted under the moonlight,
I shed my tears in silence,
And ask my folks for advice,
Just give it time they say,
It'll all pass away,
Been in this for years,
Waiting for it all to fade away,
How can you tell the moment it changes.

I then go towards the rivers,
And stare at my stricken face,
Took me a miracle to recognize myself,
Is this the me I knew before I ask myself?
Is this the me you fell head over heels in love?
Definitely I was far from perfect,
But also was I far from broken,
Of what use were you to me if I look this way,
Were you indeed my light or darkness?
My glow or dusk?
My shine or gloom?

Meant to be I repeat,
More like death to me,
If my life was that fickle to you,
Then certainly "OURS" wasn't destined to be,
Was I indeed so blinded by fairytales to believe in fate,
Was I so foolish to think you fell the moment I fell also,
I guess stupidity was embedded deep in my DNA,
Got myself too engrossed with classical romance books,
And spent much of my time with numerous fairytales,
Believed too much in having my own prince charming,
And so much in Knights In Shining Armors,
But after being slapped so hard in the face by reality,
I could finally see clearly,
Maybe or maybe not kinghts in Shining Armors existed,
Maybe princes appear and save the lonely maiden,
Maybe also love is a cheap commodity for some,
Just not me I guess.
