Eden

i.
what is this existence,
aimless in nature, that which you accorded unto us?
there is fluorescent green for miles,
the lilies glow in your neonatal palms,
you are the beginning.

ii.
you taught us of birth, of life,
of beauty and divinity. these
are the gifts of your arrival.
they will be enough for you.

iii.
we thought we saw you,
in the wind, the trees,
the fleeting moments of aliveness
beneath our bare skin, plump and
soft as spring peaches.

iv.
we are the next season,
we are the snow to turn orange
to white,
we are your salvation.
give us truth.

v.
when Adam reached his hand out,
he did not beg for creation of the self,
nor did he want for any immortal privilege,
instead he asked god, to
“make me whole”
