Cheers to You

Cheers to you my dear friend,
Tis with sweet sorrow we now part,
As I leave I will share with you the deep longings of my heart, I'll raise a glass to the happy thoughts I've hid within confines of my mind,
Of dates and mates and pleasurable states, I've yearned for in my head.
Cheers to our many kisses our lips have never shared.
Cheers to the quiet moments you ran your fingers through my hair .
Here's to the lovely children that we never really had, and to those special moments we shared together in bed.
Cheers to growing old together, clutching each other's hands, walking through green meadows and negril's beach beautiflul white sand.
Raise a glass to endless prayers we offered on bended knees, for our success and joy, love, peace and happiness that  our future would be blessed. And now as we must walk away, to set captive hearts free,
I'll muster up a strong sure voice then utter, Cheers to us.

About this poem

I have a friend whom was and is very dear to me. It's clear we love each other, we've been there through good times and bad. Very close but never intimate. I've decide to move on and open my heart to grind love. Not as true but as time goes on I realize it's the best thing for unaquitted love. I feel like giving a final speech but never to him like a ceremony to allow my heart to heal as I let go.
