The Tree

Your roots run deep
so strong and true
Echos from the past
Always another leaf, beautiful and new

Branches grow long
stretching from above
Beautiful green
full of love

I feel your strength,
your life your breath.
Even in your greatest,
I will feel you in death.

About this poem

Those who know me best know that I am the type to stop on the side of the road to take a picture of a tree, one that grabs me. I feel its roots, its branches, its leaves. I feel a kindred spirit with it.
