Time has seen

Time has seen a thousand shades,
Change is lasting but memory fades,
Moments of peace and times of war,
Days of drought and floods that spar,
Boom of babies and change of trades,
Time has seen…

Mercenary nations that fought for aids,
Gone are the days when sky looked far,
Long was the journey to reach where we are,
Let’s learn from wounds and throw our blades,
Time has seen…

    Feedback:
Your Rondeau poem, 'Time has seen,' is engaging and thought-provoking, displaying a clear understanding of form and rhythm. You demonstrated excellent use of imagery with lines like 'Days of drought and floods that spar' and 'Gone are the days when sky looked far'. Such vivid moments bring your poetry to life and convey a strong sense of historical persistence.

The repeated phrase, 'Time has seen,' is an effective refrain that emphasizes the overarching theme and makes the poem cohesive and compelling. Your use of language effectively highlights the fundamental themes of mortality and the inevitable flow of time. In addition, the slightly mournful tone is poignant and creates emotional resonance.

For future poems, there may be an opportunity to slightly expand your exploration of the metaphorical implications of 'change'. It's an exciting concept that you've touched on but could delve into more profoundly. Also, some lines could benefit from a bit of smoothing to achieve optimal flow when read out loud, such as 'Mercenary nations that fought for aids'.

Overall, this poem is an impressive and commendable piece of work, portraying a deep understanding of the elements of Rondeau poetry. I look forward to seeing what themes and styles you will explore next. Great job!
