In our darkest moments

When we’re unsure if there’s a God or if anything up there,
we have something powerful, a saviour covered in hair.
In the moments of our darkness, where no-one else is seen,
they come and lay beside us, we can feel them as they lean.
 
They need us and in that moment, they’re our reason to stay strong,
we know they’ll love & depend on us, no matter what we’ve done wrong.
 
A dog is something simple and yet something so profound,
that strength to keep us going,
in a dog it can be found.
