In Small Towns

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

In those small towns.
North, East, South and West.
Sitting between much larger cities.
Where some go to practice,
Their Imitating pretensions to impress.
People are seen,
To gather around in these small towns.
Talking to others,
They could care less about.
Unless what is talked about is entertaining.
And worth the gossip.
To get that done to prioritize,
Than their own lives and what they do.
Exaggerated to embellish on a daily basis.
Yet refuse to move forward,
To accept the changing of times.
With this heard from them to hear...
'Why should we change what we do,
When we can go and satisfy...
Being disgusting and decadent.
Then come back to where we are now,
To blame and claim our way of life...
Is being destroyed by ethnic diversity!
Replacement theories, race theories.
And aliens reported to be saying,
They are our ancestors.
From a long distant past.

We don't want that nonsense around here.
That's why we go to other places.
So we can fit right in.
And no one will notice us!'
