Beltane 2003

It is truly a wicked season
Love & life for no other reason
To denting love would be treason
If for no other reason

Reason is thrown out of sight
Is it physical form that’s blight?
Plight my troth ever to see
You and I together be.

Be it now or much later
As long as my apatite it sated
Belated love is better than none
Sooner the better as Moon follows Sun.

The Sun rises as my love does grow
Wild oats by moonlight sow
Love like a flower does bloom & show
To all its love as above so below.

European ancestry 6th generation Tasmanian. Tasmania Palawa (aboriginal) heritage. University educated and father of two boys and a daughter. I have lived mainly in Tasmania with time also spent in New South Wales and Victoria. I have traveled in New Zealand, Asia and Maldives I have been writing poetry since mid 1970's.
