Let Me Sleep

Teasa Brown Barfoot 1975 (Baytown)

Broken and alone, it is what I know. If you walked in my shoes you would grow cold.
Never enough, just not quite right.
Unwanted I will give up the fight.
Just let me sleep till it is done.
Waking up is not really fun.
Overwhelmed how heartless people can be.
You give them love and they watch you bleed.
Time and again no matter how many years.
The clock ticks and you shed your tears.
Just let me sleep until I heal.
I am so tired of having to feel.
