What Will Thanks To Give It And This Christmas Bring

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Hope to have,
Seems to be choking...
On a thin stretched string.
With every nerve left anyone has,
Being bounced around close.
And near thorns promising to sting.
As if to prepare those proactive,
To practice a doing of their favorite screams.
Leaving many to wonder,
What will thanks to give it.
And THIS Christmas bring.

So much has come to touch our lives.
To nolonger shock or awe in surprise.
Everyday for years it has been said,
TOMORROW CANT GET ANY WORSE.
And here tomorrow is.
Coming to remind us,
NEVER TO PREDICT...
THAT WHICH IS NOT WISHED!

What will thanks to give.
And this Christmas bring?
We have time now to hope and wish,
All the mess and nonsense of passed years...
Will from our lives,
Suddenly disappear and not be missed.

And...
If with kept faith to pray this B.S. away,
Let us all ask to be forgiven,
For loudly allowing ourselves to openly say...
What God has to know,
Is as honest as we can get.
Without trying to impress,
With another way to be pretentious about it!
