Walk

July 22 
I walk the neighborhood alone now
Though I still move at your pace,
That same odd mix of ease and hustle
You used to pull and push me along

I absorb the gentle roil of the day
Through reordered senses now
My ears and eyes and mind roam
To find meaning in the random

Life is shorter than we thought
Yet love lasts beyond our time
We will always walk together
Even when we no longer can
