The Secrets My Heart Holds

I feel what's left of me slowly dissipate into the darkness that I have now become accustomed to. The emotions left in every breaking beat of my severed heart is consuming me, dragging my body and soul to levels of pain indescribable into depths I never reached before. You say talking may heal the wounds I now bare, but how do I speak the words I can't say, as deep down I know you will hurt hearing them. To save your heart the pain I shall hide these words, keep them Locked safely and throw the keys. They say true love is worth fighting for. My love for you has proved this to be true, for every breath I take knowing you will never feel the same is an internal struggle, I fight the daily battle of telling you I'm not okay. They say true love is all-consuming. My love for you has proved this to be true, for I am entirely consumed by the beautiful destruction, heartache, and pain that your presence in my life leaves behind. However, no matter the wreckage you leave in your wake or the unrequited love that leaves my soul with no respite, the love my heart harbors will always remain, and your presence in my life, detrimental to my existence, no matter the hurt you leave behind.
