My four sisters

Once upon a time when I thought myself to be wise:
But, just like the all others I was filled with palters and lies.
Woke up the bed, to meet up my four loving sisters;
Who always lived far away, in their homes, with their misters.
They always stood by my side and while in trouble became my allies.

The first route I took was towards my very juvenile sister;
Everybody called her ODIUM, filled with hatred and was a twister.
Being with her felt like a sudden rage of loath collection,
Unable to express my own feelings of: love, happiness, grief and affection.
As if, wearing the false face of hostility; unwillingly dwelling into a sinister.

Second one was called SHAM, totally immature but with efforts acted mature,
She contained with dreadful lies and fibs, molded upon when situation is unsure.
With her I wore the false face that, nothing can bother me even during rejections;
In every circumstances ever from her I knew, lies, twists and manipulations.
Disinclined to speak the fake but, unfortunately all my intentions suddenly got, impure.

Ternary sister was MERRY, the second eldest; but always jovial and happy,
Sometimes she’s nearly out of control when joyful and this makes her sappy.
She taught me not to cry and act like everything is just a fine sin;
But, just to show her I wore a false face and smiled when dying within:
When reluctant, I compelled myself to laugh anyway and this made me crappy.

The eldest was AMOUR, always ready to pour the love into the heart.
Unlike others she was gentle, pure and whitish red but, not enough smart.
Never was she afraid to show affection and hence instructed me the same;
To satisfy her, I wore a false face of love and tried an intimacy flame.
Most of the times, I wasn’t in love with the person; still displayed that love art.

Now, when all the four of my sisters came all along and arrived at my home:
I offered them a bowl of soup; and we all gossiping about things sat on sofa foam.
Adoring and glorifying each other, we all stood and looked into the clear mirror,
But, when I merely saw an image of myself, I knew there was some serious error.
Then I realized there actually was no sister ever; their image wavered anyway,
And I was left with the four masks of FALSE FACES; which I wore every day.

About this poem

This poem describes about the every day fake masks we wear in our day to day life and how beautifully we hide our true feelings and nature. Just to avoid any conflict and maintain a dignity in society we torture ourselves.
