If I could fly

Geoff Lehman 1961 (New York)

Sometimes I wonder with a sigh
What it would be like if I could fly
No more cursing another cancelled train
Or standing at the bus stop in the pouring rain
No more traffic jams sitting in my car
Or waiting at airports whilst at the bar
I’d save thousands of pounds on fuel and fares
No more aching legs climbing up the stairs
I could visit countries far and wide
I could fly really fast or just gently glide
Sit high up in a tree and watch life go by
Yes it would be really fun if I could fly
