Hubris

Zulu 2000 (Calabar)

The cacophony of self is my symphony

Dare I say, it is the air I breathe

How do I forget to breathe?

Beautiful word stitching, no meaning

Container, elegantly designed, no content

What a beautiful number pretense is

Played on key hubris

From its acme, I look down

Oh! What height it is

Much invested on my part, for I am at the top

Alone at the top

Devoid of its shadow, truth is bare

Alas, I am afraid of heights

To end it all, I jump from my pride

The cacophony of death is the symphony of peace.

About this poem

It is simply a man that falls from his pride to humility because he was alone at "his top".
