Daughter

I do not like it when we say goodbye
my heart hurts, my eyes begin to cry
After you leave, I feel so all alone
without you here my house is not a home.

Whispering to myself it will be alright
no harm come to you with God by your side
without thought I say a little prayer
where ever you go always be aware.

The only person to trust is yourself
be weary of those who ask for your help
You are strong and can stand on your own
Listen to your heart not to steer you wrong.

My life's sacrifice is for you my daughter
that God keep you safe away from harm
Look to the heavens and say thank you
for the blessings God has given you.

I love you my angel for all eternity
You mean the world and everything to me
You made my Christmas unforgettable
You are so sweet, loving and beautiful.

About this poem

Wrote this poem for my youngest daughter, Christina. Whenever she visits me then has to leave, I always break down and cry. I love her so much.

I did not know how to grieve when my father passed away. I was twelve years old at the time. I started writing to let out my emotions, my feelings and to this day I am still writing my emotions and my feelings. more…
