Coffee Stains

Coffee stains on my shirt,
my fingers are numb;
for I spent the evening laying on the dirt,
writing to my valentine;

I was never myself,
nor could I be after we fell apart;
as I spent the darkest of nights,
in the mistiness of my mind;

though I told you in every language,
those three words weren't enough for you;
for me, you were the one with the light
now I search for my light with an empty heart;
