Chiron

CHIRON

He touches them, the feeble and weak;
He looks at their anguish, and feel their ache;
He pours his heart and soul and intellect,
And restores the vigor to them once sick.

Notwithstanding the peril he faces,
In every contagion he boldly encounters,
In sleeplessness, exhaustion, and sacrifices,
His faithfullness radiates to each life he touches.

The lives revived are his greatest treasures,
Not wages, riches, or being famous,
Yet no one knows the disease he endures,
The wounded healer may never recoup.
