Embedded amidst creeks
Yet surrounded by the great waters -
Udemili', unimaginable it's routes

My forebears paddled in the belly of the great Iroko tree , panting ,chanting.....
Legends of history, guided by their minds rudder - travailed but prevailed !!!
BONNY ! thy kingdom threads on,
The rampages of souls traded in shackles of chains
Besieged by rancors of blood thirsty Kings
Spreading net and hauling aboard ships ,
souls like fishes.
Thy merchants are gone, yet abides their footings
T'was in the beginning , the unseen forces of wealth,
Embedded amidst thy creeks
Oh Bonny !
Lamentation of joy....decays migrating in the dark waters ,
Permeating thru' nature's routes
T'was the birth of a new Dawn
It's beam and rays brightens the suburb
So alluring thy savour .
Thy suitor beweilders the minds of men .
Thy groom treasures the harvest of thy seeds.
Bonny, the great isle of white birds
Thy kingdom threads on !!!!
