Another month

Blank verse
Another month without you,
Another month of pain.
Another month of working,
Another month of no gain.

Another month of listening,
Another month of tears,
Another month of not knowing,
Another month of what seems like yars.

Another month without your presence,
Another month without you,
Another month without your hand in mine,
Another month of not knowing what to do.

Another month with the memories,
Another month with you in my heart,
Another month of trying to figure out
Did I really do my part?

About this poem

My ex boyfriend, Robert Joseph Mihalko, passed away in 2016. I met him in 2010 on Facebook. We actually met face to face on my dad's birthday of 2012. He came to Arkansas from South Carolina just to meet me. When we met, I understood that he had medical issues. He was born with Hydrocephalus, but everything just seemed so perfect. Everything seemed to be going great then he started having chest pains. He ended up inheriting Coronary Heart Disease which during his 86th head surgery, his heart quit fighting. I love you, Robert and I miss you daily.
