ABOUT AFRICA

ABOUT AFRICA
There was once a land unknown
A people unseen , a destiny unborn
Trees like hills towering to the skies
Mountains like fountains welling to the heaven
The sun glowing like a river of gold across the horizons
And the field? Green as green could ever be
Africa , Africa was indeed a
land of hope ,
A land of dream
A land of pearls and treasures
And a beautiful land of freedom
But then came the hovering cloud of darkness
The midst of sorrow and the frog of death
Man became an enemy to man
And like a scavenging beast we dug ourselves a grave
A grave in which we buried
Our honor- Honor for our land
Our Esteem- Esteem for our Leaders
Our Pride - Pride as a nation
Our Prestige - Prestige  as a people
And now we are considered as the white man's grave
God bless us and free us from this grief

About this poem

At the genesis of the history of Africa I felt peace and love for I enjoyed reading it but however as I furthered reading I became sad for everything changes like mystery Therefore I put these different words in order in form of Poetry revealing how was Africa and how it is currently and reason behind it concluding by praying for our beloved Continent for God Almighty to save us from this grievance.
