A Nightmare

I'm still caged in a spell of that heavenly dream I once had,
the way you stared into my eyes brought life to my heart,
trapping my mind into a forest of hopes, where each Beginning and end was just you,
Where I lived moments of power, desire and romance,
I felt love running through my veins,
and my juvenile mind dancing under the melodious moon,
but I forgot this was a mere dream,
A dream that is eating away my beautiful present,
exchanging my joyful tears for tears of despair,
And now I'm standing under the empty sky,
with weight of emptiness shattering my soul,
Waiting for you to unlock my trauma
and let me wake up from this nightmare.
-Aleezah.

About this poem

I wrote this poem few months ago while thinking of the fact that even beautiful things can haunt us and enchanting dreams can really fast turn into a nightmare.
