Right by them

I search your eyes in wonder to find what I once knew.
The silent comfort of no words spoken and there was no question.
WHO you love or
WHAT you're doing
And when we lay there in the dark
Your heartbeat would merge with mine into a lovely song.
Maybe I'm just scared to love and let my walls come down.
Or maybe these rose-colored glasses are working hard to try and protect my soul.
I wish I could see the future to see what was to come.
It's not just me I have to guard now that we have our little ones.
