Watch What You Are Saying

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The words that we are speaking now
Should always be in Love
Remembering they’re recorded
In the heavens up above

And that each foolish word
Is written down like all the others
You’ll have to answer for the things
You’ve said against your brothers

So, while they’re flying out our mouths
Perhaps we all should pause
And ask ourselves is Satan
Setting hooks within our jaws

And is he reeling in the ones?
Who speak these foolish words
If you’re looking for an answer
You should look to God’s own Word

The Bible is the only truth
This world has ever known
And Jesus is the Christ
With Him we will not be alone

The peace of God transcends all understanding!
