My only friend

Every day you visit me
You’re my only friend
I know it’s you because your the only bird I know with one leg
I wish I could go with you
And see the things you see
But I’m stuck here incarcerated
And I wouldn’t wish this on my enemy
My small little window
Facing a wall is my only view
I wouldn’t waist my time here if I was a bird like you
I’d fly all over town
With dreams of flying all around the world
I miss my family
I miss my girl
My past caught up with me
Just when I began to change
Vengeance is mine said the Lord
His payback can be so strange
Solitary confinement helped me lose my mind
But talking to you bird, helps me pass the time
Do you have a family
What happened to your leg
