Once There

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

I once had been there.
Caring.
With a wish with others,
To express my wanting...
Done to do that and share.
Then time to give it,
Became less of it given to do.

Priorities came.
And my caring to do began to change.
As others began to do the same.

I'm sure not meant,
Intentionally to prove...
What one sits to miss.
Others do too.

But no one these days,
Seem to have that kind of time...
For finding to care,
On their minds with it there to share.

Without it being felt to feel,
Who has it to want and wish...
To sit and listen to the repeating of B.S.
That everyone everywhere,
These days now knows.
A caring to share it,
Won't change a thing.
To best hope less,
Of it is heard to hear about it!

'Hi.
I had to call to say I care.
And that is why I have stayed away.
Caring.
To prove to you how much I do!'
