Beautiful Illusions

I listened to the signs.
The clouds in the sky.
The hummingbirds flutter.
The Look in my eye.

The crows and black cats that Follow me constant.
The creaks in the basement.
The basement that’s haunted.

The thoughts that consume me in doubt and self-hatred.
The ones that say “take a quick look though, you made it.”

Some say JUST LET GO if you want love to last.
They resurrect all the dark shit from my past.

The ones that say dive to the dark and you’ll find, the beauty OF life that YOUR PAIN left behind, but stay for a while if you want to fix it cause your mind’s fabricating this happy existence.

The song that comes on at the right exact moment.
The song that’s for you, but you just didn’t know it.

My coffee mug saying, “my cup overfloweth.”
The answers are there, but how would we know it?
