Whispers

Nichola "Nicki" Topolnicki 1972 (Colorado Springs, Colorado)

He calls to me…for me…
He whispers in my ear...(head?)
I cannot resist…his voice…
the pull I can’t stop…like a moth to the flame, I’m drawn…

Reaching…the touch
I catch my breath before its stolen
How dare he? … how dare i…

A fix… a need… ah…I call out to him
I cannot stop—his touch I  yearn for…he is a drug to me...intoxicating…
I know he could ruin me…destroy me…
Yet….he whispers…”come to me my love…”

Does he know… what he does?
How he shatters my heart and electrifies me with every touch?
His voice puts me in a trance like poison…my breath catches….

Controlled only by his desire…I feel his need…
This constant game of come and go in the shadows…
To pull away…

I say I’m done…he pulls me close and whispers….again…

About this poem

This was written for those who are in "forbidden" relationships that have since degraded to only physical in nature... She is still, very much "addicted" to his touch...
