The Way of The Feathet

Our way of the feathers

With Four feathers in my hands
Held softly, gently
A grip of respect.
Before my dark eyes
That reddened skin ..
Upon all of Our 'Kin' and Skin.

In Always saying to our spirit
Oh come within our flights
Of us, the soaring eagles above ,
Not Raven or Vultures....
Though some do think with peoples in their ways.

With fine woven hair that of our buffaloes bread
We weave in tune with hands from within our lands.
Sands dry, Cacti moister and suns bright
Colours our skins of years unchanged
As deep as the ancestors of our past.
Never will they fade or fail,

Their spirits, in wisdom and truth
Are Held always by hands secure
In their knowledge promised to us

The arrows for our bows make
Their Flight straight and true to aim
they always leave our mark.
Within the rain storms and thunder loud,
Of the Gods of the Sun, winds and rains
And that soil of enrichment
Feeding life limb and bread
For an Existence in abundance.
