Thyne Knight By Charles F Blanchard

Charles F Blanchard 1952 (Springfield, MA)

Ode

In the days of kings and queens
in the days of legend and lore,
there were men who fought and died
when the heart of their love was tore.
Men who drew their swords
made others retract their words,
at full gallop rode their steeds
to smyte their misdeeds.
Their shield and crest
as symbols of galantry
were known to the rest
and always put to the test.
With cunning, wisdom and might
they set out to set wrong right
such was the life of every LADY's knight.
My shield to protect you,
my sword to be thyne justice
my crest to make thy cause right,
M'Lady,
My life to be thyne knight.
