Time

From the first moment she saw his eyes, simple yet full of hopeful dreams

She knew she would never forget him.

From the moment she heard the low rumble of his laughter
and the way it encouraged you to smile

She knew she would always remember him.

The memory of the way he smelt,
like the gentle caress of a chilling breeze on a summer evening.

The memory of the way his strong arms used to hold her,
as though she were safe,

finally

no longer fearing the world.

The memories, though now laced with pain aways brought comfort

He was not the sun

He did not shine yet within him she found light.
As if she had been blind all her life

Ignorant to sight

In him life found new meaning

It was the same light that when he left she continued to seek

In,out.

She breathes

She lives on

No longer being alive

But from a distance two years later

Her love continues to shine
