Dear mom

Dear mom

Who knew two years ago tomorrow
Would be the last time I'd hear your voice
For the next month just brought pain and sorrow
And now I'd do anything to hear your voice.
For on that cold December day
Cancer took you without a choice
There was nothing we could say
For I felt like I was left with no voice.
Mom I know you are safe and sound
You are no longer in pain
But being here on the ground
Without you here is driving me insain.
I couldn't be there by your side
For I was so far away
When it was time to say goodbye
On that dreadful December day.
But mom I want you to know
I felt your spirit come to say goodbye
When it was time for you to go
The phone rung and I saw it in my husbands eyes.
That God had called you home
But I know you will always be here by our sides.
I love and miss you so much
But I know I'll hear your voice again one day
Though I know your in no rush
For the day God calls me home to stay.
