Cruel fate

Surrounded by numberless lives and hope
That are ruthlessly devastated
Helplessness suffocates me like a rope
Escape the fact we are not fated

Seeking you out in another life
After we got undesired torn apart
When pain will be as fleeting as strife
In a world resembling the most heartfelt art

So mortal and ephemeral as the destruction pass
Immortal my desire, impossible to asses.

About this poem

This poem is about the question of whether fate can be described as good and to what extent we are at the mercy of it, so I took the topic of love to illustrate it.
