Walk Away

Blaine nelson 1990 (Kokomo, Indiana)

I sit back with exasperating thoughts and recollect all that I've done.

I count my blessings from all my lessons and realize my life has just begun. Sometimes we have to be lost in order to find ourselves, and in the presence of company we can feel so alone because we try to put up walls of stealth.

Feelings may arise, but we try to store them deep inside running from things we're scared to face, causing a heart to become full of hate.

Look into my eyes and tell me what you see.

Is it Heart breaks from being lost surfing the sea? Or a hardened criminal from a past life living in the streets? An addict you can't believe!

Darkness is consuming as these thoughts become entombing.

From a life that I have lived, coming back to pursue me.

I catch my self slipping, but I try to push them back, but I don't want to run from these things of the past.

It all started with addictions I inherited from my dad to the money and the drugs that I pushed up out the trap.

Gang brothers and my wife having sex behind my back.

Fueled the anger and the hatred that I already had.

And I can't seem to escape these mind consuming thoughts.

I just want to plant my feet, so I can learn how to walk

Away from the man that's outlined in the chalk, and I'm tired of rebellion

Please, God, help me walk...
