money laundering

Markus Kiener 1960 (Regensdorf)

who is running fast by sunshine and by rain
don’t wonder, who it is, it’s me once again
once again, I go running for nickels and dimes
once again, I have to commit a crime

I just go washing some money in the laundry
and it must be washed clean as anything must be
the boss told me “don’t ever think of coming back
if the money won’t be clean, I will give you the sack”

who is running fast like a robber in the night
don’t wonder, who it is, it’s me and I don’t feel right
I’m just doing a job that nobody wants to do
“what a win” they said “we don’t want to lose you”

one more rinse cycle would surely do the money good
when I look at the money and see spots on it that dry like wood
the boss will kill me, when he sees the money isn’t clean
I don’t want to lose my life because of a washing machine

who is running fast, where is he only running to
don’t wonder, who it is, it’s me and I’m zigzagging too
from morning till night, eight days a week
money laundering is the only language I speak

who is running fast with a suitcase full of money in his hand
don’t wonder, who it is, it’s me and I‘m sweating like a man – unmanned
one more time I go running for nickels and dimes
one more time I go committing a crime

why should I pay for something that must be done
the boss will replace me for somebody new and he will run
so please don’t snitch on me or let something out
everybody is doing something illegal and nobody is talking about

who is running fast by sunshine and by rain
don’t wonder anymore, who it is, it’s me once again
once again, I go running for nickels and dimes
once again, I have to commit a crime
