Tartan

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

The little girl had a new tartan dress.
It had flashes of green with healing zest.
As if dappled moss caressed a silver birch spotlight, bless.
She was a little overweight but how she looked made her feel great.
Her eyes shook to the sides when she felt shy and she wanted to hide her lovely smile.
But she didn't play tig with long curly locks.
Instead she admired her sweet ankle socks.
